Product Description

Cary 6000i Uv-vis-nir Spectrophotometer

The Cary 6000i UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometer is tailored to provide excellent photometric performance in the short wave infrared (SWIR) range of 800-1800 nm and the UV-Vis range of 175-800 nm.

Take advantage of the excellent sensitivity of narrowband InGaAs detectors by prioritizing the spectrophotometer's luminous flux in the SWIR region. With an NIR diffraction grating of 600 lines per millimeter and a flare wavelength of 1000 nm, it concentrates the optical dispersion in the 800-1800 nm region, avoiding the photon waste that would otherwise be caused by going beyond the detector range. The Cary 6000i is the ideal spectral tool for material characterization.

Using the Cary WinUV software with the Cary 6000i makes it easy to implement powerful analysis capabilities and control optional accessories. The large sample chamber is expanded to accommodate large accessories and integrating spheres for spectral and diffuse reflection tests. The LockDown mechanism enables rapid replacement and positioning of accessories, resulting in reproducible analysis results.

Main Features:
1.With reference beam attenuators, samples with absorbance greater than 8.0 Abs can be measured.
2.Measurements in the 175-1800 nm range using a narrowband InGaAs detector and 600 l/mm NIR diffraction grating provide excellent sensitivity in the short-wave infrared region.
3.Cary WinUV Software - Modular software with powerful data analysis, processing and report export capabilities.
4.Multifunctional accessories for material characterization spectroscopic analysis include specular reflection and diffuse reflection accessories.
5.Variable bandwidth (up to 0.01 nm) optimizes spectral resolution.
6.A large sample room with LockDown mechanism ensures rapid replacement of accessories, helping to achieve highly reproducible results.
7.The Schwarzchild concentrator system guarantees high luminous flux, and optimized grating flare wavelengths allow for higher accuracy at low transmittance.
8.The cast-aluminum shock-proof isolation system and the Littrow dual monochromator design greatly reduce noise and stray light.
9.By attenuating the reference beam, the two-beam signal level is balanced and the dynamic range is expanded.
10.Nitrogen purge - Purge in the sample chamber and the grating monochromator chamber separately to reduce oxygen and water vapor in the UV.

Working Principles:

Optical design
The first UV-VisIon-near-infrared spectrophotometer with a narrowband InGaAs detector is an upgrade. The Cary 6000i uses a 600 l/mm diffraction grating to concentrate all optical energy within the wavelength range of the InGaAs detector. The combination of unique gratings and narrow-band detectors provides excellent performance in the near infrared region. The Cary 6000i's shortwave near-infrared performance (up to 1800 nm) enables high optical density measurements in the near-infrared range (up to 8 Abs) or can be used to increase detection flux at higher scan speeds.

Excellent luminosity range and linearity in near-infrared systems
Verifying the limits of performance presents unique challenges - how do you independently verify measurements that have never been achieved? A technique called "filter stack" can predict the maximum absorbance of a group of samples using well-established absorption linearity principles. In this paper, the superposition of three filters is used to confirm the luminosity range and linearity in NIR systems. The actual measured and predicted values showed a good correlation over the entire range of NIR wavelengths measured.

Fine resolution
The Cary 6000i's limiting resolution (0.1 nm) in the near infrared range is twice that of its comparable spectrophotometer. This is thanks to its diffraction grating. The high-resolution near-infrared scan of the water vapor clearly separated the absorption band near 940 nm, a wavelength that is barely visible in standard spectrophotometers. The Cary 6000i features a unique 600-line /mm NIR diffraction grating combined with the InGaAs detector for superior NIR performance.
